Meteor shower

Rates are what one person might count under a dark sky, already brought down for how high the radiant gets here and for the Moon - not the headline figure, which assumes the radiant overhead and no light at all. Cloud is the other half, and it is on the sunset tile.

The reliable one, and warm enough to sit out for in the north.

Milky Way

The bright center of the Milky Way: when it is above the horizon with the sky fully dark and the Moon set, brought down for how dark the sky is here (estimated from the towns around by Walker's law) and for cloud where the forecast reaches.

New moon

The darkest nights of the month for faint things - the Milky Way, meteors, the zodiacal light. The Moon itself cannot be seen: it sits between us and the Sun, lit on its far side.
